Over the weekend, Kevin Turen, who produced Ti West’s “X” trilogy, “The Idol,” and “Euphoria,” passed away. It was 1944. The cause of the demise is yet unknown.
Turen’s close friend and CEO of Variety’s parent firm Penske Media Corporation, Jay Penske, issued a statement upon his passing.
Penske stated, “Kevin’s greatest passion was his family and friends, despite his many accomplishments in Hollywood.” “He took great pride in his offspring. He and his spouse, Evelina, were determined that their kids develop strong morals and make a positive impact on society as a whole. We all feel such a deep feeling of loss for them, and our hearts break for them collectively. Kevin will be greatly missed, and this town lost. one of its most brilliant new stars right now.
Turen co-founded Little Lamb Productions with Ashley and Sam Levinson in 2018, therefore he was well-known for working with them. One of their most well-known works is the critically acclaimed drama series “Euphoria” on HBO, which centers on a drug-addicted teen played by Zendaya and is renowned for its stylized aesthetics and grim plot. Additionally, Turen produced “The Idol,” an HBO series that was inspired by Sam Levinson and centers on a pop sensation (Lily Rose-Depp) who becomes romantically involved with a cult leader (Abel Tesfaye). In addition, Turen produced “Assassination Nation,” a movie directed by Levinson.
Together with his work with Levinson, Turen produced a number of movies for independent filmmaker Ti West. West is the writer and director of the new trilogy of slasher flicks, which includes “X,” “Pearl,” and the upcoming “MaXXXine.” Mia Goth, who portrayed Maxine and Pearl in the movies, is a star.
The dramas “Waves” on A24, “Pieces of a Woman” on Netflix, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” starring Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal, “The Birth of a Nation,” “99 Homes,” and “All Is Lost” with Robert Redford are among the other films Turen has produced.
On August 16, 1979, Turen was born in New York City. He studied at Columbia University and graduated with a degree in Critical Film Studies and English. Turen began his career at First Look Studios as a creative executive and worked his way up to become president of production, greatly growing the business. He obtained and released a number of movies while working at First Look, including “The Proposition,” “The Dead Girl,” and “An American Crime.”
Before co-founding Little Lamb, he worked at Infinity Media, Treehouse Pictures, and Phantom Four, where he was appointed president of production.
