Concerning Chaudhary Charan Singh

     Born in Noorpur, in the Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh in 1902, Chaudhary Charan Singh served as India’s prime minister from July 28, 1979, until January 14, 1980.

     He held two terms as Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister. In 1979, he was appointed Prime Minister of India.
